Summary: The number of US workers who are working partially or fully from home has increased in the last few years and the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated this trend. Although recent spikes in COVID-19 have delayed office onboarding, workers have started to return to their offices. At the same time, many companies are reducing space and reviewing future space needs. The remote office trend seems more permanent now, but prior attempts at remote office work policies have often had poor results. With effective vaccines soon to be available, today’s work from home trend is not a good long term plan for most companies and employees.
